This new thermostat replaces the factory unit, allowing coolant to circulate at lower engine temperatures, keeping the engine cooler.  A must have for every 2010-2015 Camaro SS & ZL1. This 160º thermostat dramatically reduce operating temperatures, while increasing thermal efficiency and your engine’s performance in the process, allowing coolant to circulate at lower engine temperatures, keeping the engine cooler.  Installation does require the coolant system to be drained. Once system is drained, simply remove the 2 – 10mm bolts holding the thermostat housing to the factory water pump. Once those bolts are removed simple remove factory thermostat and replace with RST 160* thermostat. Reinstall the factory bolts in place and fill coolant system with proper Dex-Cool coolant.  Part Number: 100229
